AVA, Mo. — On September 29, during a Wright County criminal docket, Circuit Judge Craig Carter sentenced Kevin H. Hansen, 56, Ava, to 12 years in prison for the class D felony of Possession of Methamphetamine as a prior and persistent drug offender in case 26WR-CR00453 after Hansen entered a plea of guilty. This case was a change of venue to Wright County at the defendant’s request. There was no agreement for sentencing so arguments were heard. After arguments concluded, the Court sentenced Hansen to 12 years in prison pursuant to §217.362, the Long-Term Treatment program.
This plea resulted in Hansen’s Wright County case, 25WR-CR00214-01, for Possession of Methamphetamine to be revoked. The court ordered the previously imposed 7-year sentence be executed pursuant to §217.362, Long Term Treatment and both cases are to run concurrently. The Douglas County offense occurred in January of 2026 and was jointly investigated by the Ava Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
