Ava, MO. — The Ava Farmers Market is inviting area cooks and local supporters to take part in its upcoming Chili Cook Off, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, at the market gazebo.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Ava Farmers Market Gazebo, 215 E. Jefferson St. in Ava.
Those interested in putting their chili recipes to the test may enter the competition for a $20 entry fee. Cash and checks will be accepted.
The market is also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorships are available for $30 and will help support the local market and its activities.
Organizers are encouraging residents to mark their calendars and help spread the word as the market prepares for the fall event.
