MLB Proposes Shorter Regular Season

Major League Baseball has proposed shortening the regular season and increasing the division series to a seven-game format. The proposals were part of negotiations with the MLB Players Association over a new collective bargaining agreement.

If agreed to, the regular season would go from 162 games to 154. The reduction in games would give teams a day off each week.

The MLB also announced the highest-seed in the wild card and divisional series rounds would get to choose the team they want to play.

The MLBPA said they are reviewing the proposals.
