James “Bo” Charles Turley Jr., son of the late James Charles Turley Sr. and Betty Viola Tummons, born September 24, 1970, in Springfield, Missouri, departed this life on October 2, 2026, at The University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 56 years and 8 days.
James grew up in Mansfield, Missouri, where he attended school before entering the workforce as a logger. James was a hands-on man who never found something he couldn’t fix or break. He had a passion for building race cars alongside his father, brothers, and cousins. In his free time, he loved hunting for arrowheads and hanging out with his friends and family. He was fun to be around and thoroughly enjoyed driving around while listening to music. Known for his mischievous spirit, James loved to play pranks on people, even if others didn’t always find them as funny as he did. He also had a deep affection for his dogs, whom he jokingly loved “maybe more than most of his family.”
He was preceded in death by his father, James Charles Turley Sr.; his son, Braden Turley; his brother, Floyd Turley; his sisters, Valerie Barnum, Barbara Turley, and Juanita Turley; his niece, Breanna Shannon; and his grandparents.
James is survived by his significant other, Tonya Bledsoe; his mother, Betty Turley; his step-mother, Ellen Turley; two sons, Jared Hill and Jeremiah (Booke) Turley; three daughters, Taylor Turley, Mykah (Robert) Frye, and Lou Ann Simpson, one brother, Micheal (Pam) Turley; seven sisters, Janet (Dale) Cook, Karol (Jesse) Nagy, Sherry Turley, Gina Davidson, Angela Evans, Samantha Tummons and CaSondra (Joe) Garrison; many beloved grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
