TRACTOR THEFT INVESTIGATION LEADS TO FELONY ARREST

From Shannon County Sheriff Steven Hogan:

SHANNON COUNTY, MISSOURI- On October 7, 2026, the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen Ford 4000 Series tractor and Bush Hog brush hog from property near Birch Tree, Missouri. The equipment was valued at approximately $4,700.

During the investigation, deputies discovered damage to the property’s entrance gate and learned that electrical power had been disabled, rendering the surveillance system inoperable.

On October 9, 2026, investigators located the stolen equipment in Winona, Missouri, in the possession of Zachary Alexander Needles, age 32, of Winona. Needles claimed to have purchased the equipment through Facebook Marketplace. However, investigators developed information questioning the authenticity of the purported bill of sale.

On October 10, 2026, the Honorable Judge Sandra Brewer issued a felony arrest warrant for Needles for Class D Felony Stealing, with a $10,000 cash-only bond.

I commend Sgt. Brixey and our deputies for their investigative work in locating the stolen property and bringing this case before the court. I also want to personally thank the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for interviewing one of their citizens who was identified as a potential suspect during this investigation.
Additionally, I thank the Winona Police Department for their assistance.

Our citizens work hard for what they own, and they deserve a Sheriff’s Office that takes property crimes seriously. We remain committed to protecting our citizens and holding those who commit crimes accountable.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
