Mountain Grove, MO. – Certain parts of Mountain Grove are getting a fresh coat of paint. This is because the Fire Department have enacted a new way for the citizens to get involved in the maintenance of their community.
This program is called Adopt A Hydrant. A citizen or organization picks a hydrant somewhere in town and donates $125 to the Fire Department, which then spurs the Department to paint an image on the hydrant and deliver a certificate showing proof of donation. Some hydrants have already been adopted, meaning citizens can already witness tghe changes.
The money used will then go into the repairing of hydrants, regular maintenance, and replacement parts.
Currently, images come in two designs: dalmations and stars & stripes.
Those interested in taking part can call 417-259-0302 Monday through Friday.
