A 13-year-old boy from Bunker is gaining national attention as he competes for the chance to become a comic book character in Stan Lee’s Super Kid competition.

For Kutter and his family, the competition carries special meaning.

According to his mother, Ashlee, Kutter survived a serious brain infection as an infant that has continued to affect the way he learns, processes information, and remembers what he has learned. Reading has remained one of his greatest challenges, requiring persistence, patience, and repeated effort.

Despite those obstacles, Kutter has developed a wide range of interests and talents. He enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for animals, and operating his own 3D-printing business. His family describes him as creative, determined, and full of big ideas for the future.

The competition’s focus on storytelling, imagination, and literacy makes this opportunity especially meaningful. For a young person who has faced significant reading challenges, the possibility of seeing his own story transformed into a comic book represents a deeply personal achievement.

His family hopes Kutter’s journey will encourage other children facing academic challenges to recognize that their struggles do not define their abilities or their potential.
