A Hartshorn man suffered serious injuries Wednesday evening after a crash on U.S. 60 east of Mansfield.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. on October 28, about three miles east of Mansfield in Wright County.
Investigators said a 47-year-old Hartshorn man had stopped to assist at a prior, unrelated crash and parked his 2010 Honda Odyssey in the westbound lane with its hazard lights activated. A westbound 2022 Ford box truck, driven by a 24-year-old Springfield man, struck the rear of the parked vehicle.
The impact pushed the Honda off the roadway and into a rock bluff. The Honda driver sustained serious injuries and was flown by Mercy Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The driver of the box truck was not listed as injured.
