The grant will provide a new 135-inch folding screen and sound system for the school gymnasium, new conference room technology in both school libraries, interactive boards and laptops for all teachers in both district buildings, and upgraded technology in the district’s FEMA building.

A major component of the grant also focuses on expanding access to healthcare through telehealth and telemedicine equipment. District leaders say the new resources will help increase learning opportunities, strengthen classroom technology, improve collaboration and communication, and make healthcare services more accessible for area residents.

School officials noted they are especially excited about the future community benefits of the telehealth and telemedicine equipment and plan to share additional details in the coming months on how local residents may be able to access expanded healthcare services closer to home.

District leaders thanked those who helped secure the grant and said the investment will have a lasting impact on students, staff and the community for years to come. Summersville R-II officials called the award a major achievement and said they are proud of what it means for the future of the district and its students.
