Pineville, AR – In the early morning hours of April 1, 2025, a fire destroyed Jordan Grocery in Izard County, Arkansas. While the building was a total loss, no injuries were reported.
Firefighters from the Rodney Jordan Fire District were dispatched shortly after midnight to the scene at the corner of Arkansas Highway 177 and Jordan Road. In addition to the damage to the store, the fire also burned a nearby power line, leaving several North Arkansas Electric Cooperative members without electricity. Power has since been restored.
Crews battled the blaze for approximately three and a half hours. The Rodney Jordan Fire Department received assistance from the Salesville, Norfork, and Pineville fire departments.
Chief Forman stated that a fire investigator arrived later Tuesday morning to determine the cause, which remains undetermined at this time.
