Mountain Home Fire Department Improves ISO Rating

Mountain Home, AR. – The Mountain Home Fire Department announced this week that their ISO rating has improved from a 3 to a 2, which means residents of the area could receive lower insurance premiums.

The ISO, or Insurance Services Office issues a rating to a fire protection district, evaluating their capabilities in suppressing fire, including training, water supply, equipment, and more. The rating scale goes from 10 to 1, with 1 being the best.

Homeowners should report this change to their primary housing insurance provider to see if it could reduce their overall costs.

The Fire Department stated that this applies specifically to those who reside in Mountain Home, as the evaluation of the rural fire district remains unchanged.
