Featured Pet of The Day-Chisum

Meet Chisum, a handsome 3 year old boy looking for a new home through The City of Mountain Grove Animal Control

We know Chisum’s mom was a Collie, but dad is unknown. He is a medium sized dog, but he’s a little chunky right now and will need a diet. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to move on to his next new adventure.

Chisum was relinquished to the shelter because his owner had to move to town, and town is not a good fit for Chisum. He was raised a farm dog, and seems to prefer it that way. His previous owner is hoping someone with land would take him in, and let them see what a good boy he is.

Chisum has been exposed to cattle, and kids when he was younger. He was potty trained when he was a pup, but has lived outside for awhile now. He lived with another male dog and did great. He was never taught to walk on a leash, so he panics a little bit on leash, but we ths shelter is working with him on this. He has also been around cats.

There is no fee to adopt Chisum. He is just looking for a good home with some land.
