Featured Pet of the Day – “Dale” – Special Edition

Happy Wednesday. Today’s Featured Pet of the Day is a little different but important. Meet Dale! Dale’s owner is asking for help. Dale is a 5-year-old neutered bloodhound with dog aggression. He is up-to-date on all his vaccines, is microchipped, and is fully housetrained. Here is Dale’s story. Dale is a wonderful family dog and has been with his family for a very long time. He gets along with their spayed female bloodhound. But he recently got out of his owner’s 6-foot privacy fence and attacked another dog, and the owner of the attacked dog was Dale’s owner’s insurance adjuster. Now, Dale cannot live in the home, or they will lose their house. they were not given time to train him, so they are asking for help. They were told to either get rid of Dale or euthanize him.

This is from his current owners – “He has to be out of our house as soon as possible to avoid detrimental consequences. He has received the AKC good citizenship title (he’s good when being handled) and has had some basic training in man trailing. He is ecollar trained to some extent. His recall is not great. He was previously training to be a therapy dog but I felt that his dog aggression precluded him from that. He used to chase our cats but doesn’t now – not sure what he’d do with a cat outside of his yard or a cat he’s never met before.”
Please share or contact Ozarks Pet Rescue to help save Dale! He really is a sweet and good dog he just needs work. If you are interested in a project dog please reach out. Dale doesn’t have too much time left.

– Like I said, today’s featured pet was different but he is a special case who just needs a little work.
Thank you and have a great day!
