The Howell County Northern District has awarded a bridge construction contract to West Plains Bridge & Grading Company. The project is being funded through the BRO (Off-System Bridge Replacement) Program, a partnership involving the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
West Plains Bridge & Grading Company submitted the lowest qualified bid for the project at $435,000.
This project will be funded through a 75/25 cost-sharing arrangement, with the Federal Highway Administration covering 75% of the total project cost, and the remaining 25% funded locally.
The new bridge will be a 24-foot by 64-foot structure, located over the Eleven Point River on County Road 2000. This improvement will enhance safety and accessibility for local residents and travelers in the area.
According to Northern Commissioner Calvin Wood, the project has an anticipated completion date of February 2027
