Willow Springs, MO. – A 12-year-old girl from Willow Springs recently raised a quadruple digit value for the sake of Alzheimer’s research using a summer classic: the lemonade stand.
The girl’s name is Janessa Cunningham, and while this isn’t the first year she began this stand, this year was the most successful. That is due in part to Willow Care Nursing Home inviting Janessa to come to their location to operate. In addition, Janessa’s brother, Jayden, pitched in to give his sister a hand.
Janessa has stated the major inspiration for this stand was for an older relative who suffered from the affliction herself. Many people came out this year to purchase lemonade and by the end of the storm of people, the total profits came out to $2,050. This number was in addition, matched by an anonymous donor, who stated they would donate a value to the Willow Care Special Care Neighborhood. This brought the total value in fundraising to a staggering $4,100.
While the lemonade stand is over for this year, individuals who still wish to donate or participate in this good cause can do so by visiting the Alzheimer’s Association website by clicking here.
