14 take part in Summer Scholars Academy at Missouri State University – West Plains

West Plains, MO. – FOURTEEN AREA SIXTH through eighth grade students participated in Missouri State University-West Plains’ (MSU-WP) Summer Scholars Academy. The students participated in several classes and hands-on activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and math, organizers said.

Jacob Poulette, assistant professor of computer graphics and programming and one of the academy’s organizers, said students really enjoyed this year’s event, which was the first since 2019 due to the pandemic, and several parents told organizers how much fun their children had. “We hope to do it again next year,” he said. “We are going to plan optimistically but be prepared to face challenges or potential cancellation based on the last few years.”
