$15,000 Reward Announced for Information on AR Bald Eagle Shooting

Yellville, AR. – On April 28th of 2023, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced they were issuing a bounty on information leading to a conviction over the shooting of a pair of bald eagles in Marion County. Since then, another organization has gotten involved, and the price tag for information now stands at $15,000.

This started when two eagles were discovered shot dead on February 13th near County Road 3021 in Marion County. In addition, there were also bodies of hawks, a dog, and white-tailed deer with other gunshot wounds.

Since the original announcement, the Center for Biological Diversity has added to the reward for incriminating information by $10,000, as of an announcement they made yesterday.

Both bald eagles and golden eagles are protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. People who violate the statutes of these acts could see large fines and up to two years in prison.
