Licking, MO. – The 17th death of an inmate in 2023 has been reported at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking, Missouri.
On Monday, December 25, 2023, at 11:58 p.m., offender Demon Dornell Culpepper was pronounced deceased at the prison.

Culpepper was a 28-year-old offender serving a 5-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance, 1st-degree tampering with a motor vehicle from Pulaski County, possession of a controlled substance from Franklin County, and unlawful possession of a firearm from St. Louis City. The inmate was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections for this period of incarceration on Nov. 30, 2021.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Culpepper’s death.
