19-year-old arrested in murder case

On Friday, April 23, the Salem, Ark., Police Department received a missing person report on 19-year-old Davidlee Allen Kane Stansbury. Stansbury reportedly left his home around 4 a.m. with a close friend and had not been heard from all day.

In the early evening, Sheriff Al Roork received information that 19-year-old Jacoby Auston Goehler, of Salem, had killed Stansbury.

Chief Deputy Joe Boshears and officer Phillip Taylor located and arrested Goehler at his residence. Police attempted to interview Goehler but he refused to talk to officers.

At 2 a.m., April 24, a probable cause affidavit for warrant of arrest was prepared for murder in the first degree. Judge Larry Kissee signed the warrant and affixed a $500,000 cash only bond.

Monday, April 26, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department located the body of Stansbury about five miles north of Salem in thick woods. Stansbury had an apparent gunshot wound. The body was sent to the state crime lab in Little Rock for an autopsy.
