2021 Zizzer Homecoming Information Including a New Parade Route

West Plains, MO – The West Plains School District is gearing up for Homecoming 2021, and the community is invited to join in as we celebrate homecoming on October 8.  This year’s theme is “Vanquish the Vikings.”   

Homecoming Information & Activities:

• • Full Day of School – Friday, October 8, will be a full day of school for all buildings. Students will not be released for early release day. School will be released at the following times for each building:
    • West Plains Elementary – 2:55 p.m.
    • ZPA – 3:30 p.m.
    • Middle School – 3:40 p.m.
    • High School – 3:40 p.m.
    • South Fork – 3:45 p.m.
  • The Homecoming Parade – 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 8. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to attend the parade. To enter a float, click here Community Entry Form. (Floats must be registered to participate.)

• New Parade Route – 

• • • The parade will begin on Howell Street and march toward the high school. Then the parade will make its way down Olden Street and continue east past the high school. Finally, the parade will turn left onto Allen and end at Allen and Sesson.
    • The parade lineup will form on the north side of Bratton Street. 
    • High school students will watch the parade on Howell Street, past the tennis courts toward Howell Creek. 
    • Middle school students will watch the parade on Howell Street just north of the tennis courts and on Olden Street.  
    • Elementary students will watch the parade in front of the middle school on Olden Street and Allen Street. 
    • Parent parking is available at the GoCAT facility, softball fields, high school gravel parking lot, middle school gravel parking lot, and the parking lots at the elementary.  Parents and community members should park before the parade begins as the roads will be blocked.
• Varsity Football Game and Crowning of the Homecoming Queen – 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, Zizzer Stadium. Crowning at halftime.
• High School Homecoming Dance – Saturday, October 9 – 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., High School Gym
