Bakersfield, MO. – Despite some of the precipitation we’ve had lately, the Ozarks have been in a sensitive state regarding vulnerability to fire. The Fire Departments within the area around Bakersfield had their work cut out for them this weekend tackling a 30 acre fire outside of the southern Missouri town. The Bakersfield Volunteer Fire Department, The Bakersfield Fire Department proper, and the Gamaliel Fire Department worked together to get the situation under control and safe despite the windy conditions. No injuries were reported and the fire has been successfully taken care of.
