Manhunt for Mansfield man ends in Greene County

West Plains, MO. – A manhunt for a Mansfield man that began Friday in Cabool ended on Sunday evening near Springfield. 

Multiple law enforcement agencies began a search for James Cruse, age 54 of Mansfield, on multiple felony charges. The search began near noon, south of Cabool in the area of AD Highway and Onyx Cave Road. Cruse had fled into the woods and a manhunt was conducted.

By 7 pm, the search was canceled as credible information was received that Cruse had fled the area.

Cruse was spotted near Lake Springfield in a stolen car on Sunday, July 30th and deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Cruse.

While the suspect is wanted for felonies in several counties, James Cruse is currently being held in the Greene County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
