Mountain Grove man arrested for allegedly hitting woman with lumber

West Plains, MO. – A Mountain Grove man was arrested in Douglas County for allegedly hitting a woman with a piece of lumber.

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a domestic disturbance on August 1, 2023. There, a woman was seen by deputies with a large amount of blood on her face, and on and in her ear. They found 60-year-old Scott Ferretti inside the garage of the home and detained him.

Deputies learned that Ferretti and the woman had an argument and he struck her in the head with a piece of lumber and then attempted to stop her from calling for help. According to EMS on the scene, the woman would need staples to help heal the head wound. The woman took a personal vehicle to seek further medical help as a child was at the residence at the time.

Ferretti is being held at the Douglas County Jail and is charged with 1st-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child, 2nd-degree kidnapping, and tampering or attempt to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution. His bond is set at $25,000 cash.
