West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man has accepted a plea deal and has been sentenced in a case where he was accused of making threats against court officials.
Blake Osgood of West Plains pled guilty on November 15, 2023, to two lesser charges of misdemeanor Terroristic Threat and was sentenced to two years probation and a suspended execution of sentence on 365 days in County Jail.
According to online court documents, the two counts that Osgood pled to were for threatening to abduct his children from his ex-wife and stating that law enforcement officers would have to kill the defendant in order to retrieve the children and for referring to an ex parte order of protection by the judge as “bullshit,” expressing that he would like to see the judge harmed, and referenced the murder of lawyers and judges, and stating that he knew where the involved deputies, prosecutors, and judges reside.
Part of Osgood’s plea deal was that Count 1 was dismissed. Count 1 accused the defendant of threatening to kill or harm judges, prosecutors, and attorneys.
As part of his probation, the defendant received special conditions to stay away from the aforementioned judge and the courts where the judge worked unless for legitimate purposes, such as a court appearance or filing paperwork with the clerk. He is also to have no contact with his ex-wife, with the exception of custody issues.
Osgood is to refrain from possessing firearms during his probation and is to seek a mental health evaluation and comply with treatment.
