Eminence, MO. – One last large prescribed burn is being planned for Shannon County. This burn is being performed in coordination between the National Park Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
This burn is a rescheduled burn from last week, as conditions were not ideal. This will be taking place at Pulltite in northern Shannon County. Those along Highway EE will likely observe a lot of smoke while traveling the area.
According to Josh Chilton with Ozark National Scenic Riverways, these burns are expected to prevent damage to the environment, and promote not only overall growth but also biodiversity.
This burn is also scheduled to be the last burn for the season.
