69-year-old murderer dies in Licking Prison

Licking, MO. – A convicted murderer died earlier this week in the state prison in Licking, Missouri.

Inmate Jimmy Williams, age 69, was pronounced deceased at 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center in Fulton, Missouri.

Williams died of apparent natural causes. This makes the 15th death at the South Central Correctional Center in 2023.

Williams was convicted of first-degree murder and armed criminal action from Platte County and was serving two life sentences.

Williams was found guilty of the murder of Thadd Mize, his daughter’s ex-husband in late 2001. Jimmy and his wife, Brenda Williams, were found guilty of the murder of Mize and sentenced to two life sentences each. Williams’s daughter, Chrysta Mize, was found guilty of conspiracy and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He had been received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Nov. 14, 2002.
