6th Annual Knights of the Square Table Chess Tournament Announced

Willow Springs, MO. – A different kind of tournament is returning to the Ozarks and will take place in Willow Springs. It’s the 6th Annual Knights of the Square Table Tournament, which will see area school-age students and adults compete in chess.

The event will happen on Saturday, September 16th, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. This tournament is open to any and all school-aged children, but minor participants should be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Each participant is expected to play four games, and players are asked to make no more than one minute to make their move for the sake of brevity. After an hour has passed, games in progress may be placed on a 5-minute clock to finish up.

Divisions for this tournament are based on age and education level, with 4 divisions. There is the elementary division, open to grade 4 and below. Grades 5 through 8 will be represented in the Middle School Division. Grades 9 through 12 will take up the High School Division. Lastly, there will be an Adult Division for coaches, parents, and others.
