80-Year-Old Taney County Man Fatally Shoots Roommate

Bradleyville, MO. – An 80-year-old man from Bradleyville, MO., has been arrested after killing his roommate with a handgun.

This fatal shooting event happened on Thursday, November 2nd. According to the probable cause affidavit, law enforcement responded to a 911 call at roughly 7:04 p.m. On arrival, it was found that Charles Tinker, 80, had shot his roommate, 52-year-old Jon Lovelace, after the two were involved in a verbal argument over rent payment.

A 9mm Ruger handgun was found at the residence, which was determined to be the weapon used. According to testimony from Tinker, disagreements arose over Lovelace not paying his share of rent. Tinker went on to state that he shot Lovelace out of a mix of anger and fear of safety. Tinker had also admitted to consuming four shots of whiskey prior to the event.

Tinker is facing charges including felony 2nd Degree Murder, felony Armed Criminal Action, and felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
