UPDATE: Prayer Vigil Tonight for Summersville Teens in Fatal Accident

Update March 7, 2022 11:30 a.m. – The identity of the driver who perished in the accident was revealed as Trey Fiske.

Fiske was a student at Summersville High School. Summersville superintendent, Dr. Rick Stark, stated that grief counselors will be available for students to utilize.

A prayer vigil will be held at the Summersville High School Gym on Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. 

Summersville, MO. – At roughly 2:55 in the afternoon of March 5th, 2022, an accident has claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and injured two others. A 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by the 17-year-old, went off the right side of the road and overcorrected, causing a rollover that ejected two occupants.

The 16-year-old from Summersville was the only occupant who was using their safety device, and was not ejected, leading to only moderate injuries from the accident. The remaining 15-year-old resident from Eminence sustained serious injuries and was flown via air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

This accident was investigated by Trooper J.J. Smith of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
