Accident Leaves Two Vehicles Totaled, One Trailer Damaged, and One Occupant Injured

Ava, MO. – An accident outside of Ava has ended with the total damage count being two vehicles totaled, one trailer damaged, and an occupant injured in the aftermath.

According to the Report from the Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 1am on Sunday, September 11th. A 16-year-old juvenile was driving a 2011 Chevy Silverado Northbound on Highway 5, when they crashed South of Ava.

The Chevy Silverado was towing a trailer, which was carrying a 1986 Chevy 4×4. The Juvenile and his father, Buddy Brazier, 46 of Licking, were traveling back from a truck pull when the accident happened.

The accident was the result of the Silverado traveling off the right side of the roadway, traveling down an embankment, striking multiple trees and overturning. Both the trailer and second truck were pulled along.

Brazier was not wearing his safety device and suffered moderate injuries in the crash, for which he was transported to Cox South in Springfield for treatment.

This accident was investigated by Corporal D.J. Johnson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
