West Plains, MO – On July 1, 2021 at approximately 1544 hours the Howell County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a juvenile child whom suffered an accidental gunshot wound to the upper torso at a residence on County Road 3010 in West Plains, Howell County, Missouri.
Deputies and first responders made contact with the victim on US Highway 160 as they were traveling to Ozarks Healthcare. The juvenile child was transferred to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and later transported to Ozarks Healthcare for medical care. Deputies were notified later that evening that the child had succumbed to the wound.
Deputies and Investigators, simultaneously, responded to the residence on County Road 3010 where an investigation surrounding the incident was conducted. The investigation in ongoing at this time.
