WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Several programs offered by Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) have been added to the list of those eligible for funding through Missouri’s Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant.
The financial aid program ensures, when combined with other government resources, that tuition and fees are fully covered for eligible students age 25 and older who are seeking a degree, certificate or industry-recognized credential in a high-demand career.
Students younger than 25 also may be eligible to receive the grant if they haven’t been enrolled in any educational program within the last two years.
“If you’ve been out of school for a long time or even just two years, this is a great financial assistance program to put you back on that path,” said MSU-WP Interim Chancellor Dennis Lancaster. “With many degree and certificate programs available for Fast Track funding, Missouri State-West Plains can help guide you in a career selection that will utilize these educational training programs in seated, online, and even blended classroom settings.”
MSU-WP associate degree programs added to the list of those eligible for funding include:
• Associate of Applied Science in Business
• Associate of Science in Business
• Associate of Arts in Child and Family Development
• Associate of Applied Science in Child and Family Development
• Associate of Applied Science in Culinary and Hospitality Management
• Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement
MSU-WP certificate programs now eligible for funding include:
• Advanced Business Studies
• Advanced Child and Family Development
• Basic Child and Family Development
• Basic Bookkeeping
• Basic Business Studies
• Foundations of Business
• Basic Office Management
• Law Enforcement
Fast Track grant awards will cover any remaining tuition and fees not covered by other state and federal student aid programs. When other aid programs cover all tuition and fees, students could receive up to $500 to cover other education-related expenses.
To be eligible, students must be Missouri residents who do not have a bachelor’s degree and are planning to enroll full or part time. They also must have a household income of $80,000 or less for a family or $40,000 or less for an individual.
Grant recipients must maintain Missouri residence and work in Missouri for three years after graduation to prevent the grant from becoming a loan that must be repaid with interest.
