At approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, West Plains Police responded to a residence on Lanton Road in West Plains for a report of an altercation between two males. It was learned during the altercation, one male produced a firearm and shot the second male multiple times.
The male who was shot was transported to Ozarks Medical Center for treatment and was later pronounced dead. The shooter was has been taken into custody. At this time, the names of the shooter and the victim are not being released.
