Alton, MO. – The Black & Gold Walnut Festival will be making its return this weekend in the small town of Alton, MO.
This event is expected to begin at 9am, with opening ceremonies being led by the Alton VFW. Expect live music, food, crafts and all that comes with a festival in the Ozarks.
The yearly pumpkin carving contest will begin at 9:30am, and more contests will also be judged during the morning. There are categories for baking and wood working.
One showcase activity for the festival is called “Walnut Idol”, a singing contest with a cash prize. Those who wish to take part will have to sign up before noon time the day of the festival.
