Alton Man Injured After Striking Deer with His Motorcycle

A 45‑year‑old Alton man was seriously injured early Wednesday after his motorcycle struck a deer west of Alton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash happened around 5:45 a.m. on Missouri Route P, six miles west of town. The rider was traveling east on a 2006 Honda VT750 when the motorcycle hit a deer in the roadway. The impact caused the bike to overturn, ejecting the driver.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
