Pet Lovers! – Here it is again, the Pet of the Day wrap-up. This week’s pets are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. Just so you know, October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, so I appreciate you sharing and helping these guys find a forever home and family. Shyla and Monroe were extremely popular, and I am so happy that they did well. The animals below are all the featured animals from this week. Here we go!
On Monday, we featured Shyla. Shyla is an 8-year-old Terrier/American Pit Bull mix being held at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. She has already been spayed and has been waiting for a family since September 9th, 2023. Shyla is a very active and adventurous girl. She loves to play outside, go on walks, and lay in the sunshine. She would love to be adopted by a family with a good backyard to play in and she would want to be your only baby to have all your attention. She is ready to finally find her family and forever home. October is the National Adopt an Adoptable Dog! So please don’t pass her kennel without giving this baby a chance. I know people are wary of Shyla and other pitbull mixes, but please give her a chance. I met her and she really is a fun, loving, and sweet girl who just wants a family. If you want to adopt Shyla, contact the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri at (417) 833-2526.
On Tuesday, we featured Monroe. Monroe is a 3-year-old domestic medium-haired mix little male. He has been neutered already and has been waiting for a home at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri since July 24, 2024. He was surrendered to the adoption center by his family. Monroe is a fun cat. He has a huge personality, with a little sass but loves humans and attention. He loves his food and treats. He would love to find another family and is waiting for them to stop by his kennel. Monroe would love to complete your family. If you are interested in adopting Monroe, contact the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri at (417) 833-2526.
On Wednesday, we featured Lennon. Lennon is a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepard Mix and has been waiting at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri since December 5th, 2023. She is a fun and sociable dog. She is very playful and sweet, as well as dog-friendly. They only ask that you let Lennon meet and greet with any dogs you currently own before you take her home to ensure they get along. Lennon is older kid kid-friendly but they are unsure about her position on cats. Lennon would love to find a forever family with a backyard space that she can play in but she can get on without one. Lennon was found as a stray without a family and came with a sister. She is craving a family and a forever home where she can be spoiled with love. She is housetrained and spayed already. Also she, I know for sure, LOVES belly rubs. If you are interested in giving Lennon a home, contact the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri at (417) 833-2526.
On Thursday, we featured two cats because they wouldn’t separate for the pictures!! The black and white cat on the right is Acorn. Acorn is a 2-year-old Domestic shorthair mix who has been available at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri since April 10, 2024. Acorn is shy and loves to be in her cat condo. She was found as a stray and enjoys lounging in a calm and quiet environment. She is cat-friendly and likes kids aged ten and up. She isn’t the biggest fan of dogs and would love to have a home without any. The cat on the left is Daphne. Daphne is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair mix who has been waiting at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri since July 19, 2024. She was surrendered by her family to the adoption center, and she is a pretty small little girl. Both of these babies are waiting for their forever families. If you want to adopt either Acorn or Daphne, contact the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri at (417) 833-2526.
On Friday, we featured Victor. Victor is a 4-year-old Terrier American Pit Bull mix and has been waiting for a forever home since August 20, 2022. For over 2 years!. He is a super active boy and would absolutely love a home that is as active as he is or to have a yard to run and play in. Victor is a very sweet cutie. He does require a home with no other pets, as he wants to be the only one who gets your loving attention. He does well with older kids and loves to snuggle with his human on the couch until it is time to play. Again, I know that people are wary of pit bulls but I spent some time with Victor and he is so sweet and playful. He deserves a family and a home just as much as all the other dogs. Please share and help him find a home where he can be loved. If you are wanting to adopt Victor, contact the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri at (417) 833-2526.
