Arkansas Fugitive Arrest After Barricading Self in West Plains Residence

West Plains, MO. – On Thursday, September 19th, a wanted man from Arkansas was arrested in West Plains after he barricaded himself away from police in a local residence.

The West Plains PD say this operation began at roughly 5:16pm after information of the male suspects location was obtained. The man, identified as 38-year-old James Michael Meese, was found in the 500 block of Tiffany Street, and was wanted for charges of Rape, Sexual Assault, and Terroristic Threatening.

Upon arrival, Meese was seen fleeing into the residence. Upon sealing himself inside, hours of police negotiations were enacted before law enforcement breached the residence and Meese was taken in without further incident.
