Arts and Cultural Alliance Formed in West Plains

West Plains, MO. – An alliance of various organizations has been formed within the West Plains area in order to better encourage collaboration and organizing of events within the various artistically inclined groups within the city.

As it stands, the newly formed Arts and Cultural Alliance consists of the Harlin Museum, MSU-West Plains, Avenue Theater, The Yellow House, and the West Plains Council on the Arts.

Through this newly established alliance, events will be discussed, planned, and scheduled in a way that will allow each event for each group to be the most successful it can be.

In other West Plains art updates, don’t forget that the Old Time Music Ozark Heritage festival is happening this weekend outside of the West Plains Civic Center. Then, the weekend after next is the next planned “Second Saturday Art Stroll” on the square in West Plains.

The public’s opportunity to view the treasured Pioneers of the Ozarks collection of portraits and Ozarks’ landscapes created by historic Shannon County artist, L.L. Broadfoot, is happening during the Ozark Heritage exhibit at the Harlin Museum, 405 Worcester, West Plains. The 2022 Ozark Heritage Exhibit opens June 3 in conjunction with the Old-Time Music, Ozark Heritage Festival and will be on display in the museum’s main gallery until July 31.
