WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Aging will be the topic of the Friends of the Garnett Library meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St., in West Plains.
Carol Silvey, emeritus professor of history, former director of development at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) and former member of the Missouri State University Board of Governors, will present the program “A Wise Idea: A ‘Seasoned Scholars Institute’.”
The presentation will look at the physical and mental aspects of aging and the resulting social implications and will suggest ways to address “the invisibility issue,” Silvey said.
Cost of the lunch is $10, payable at the door. Those wishing to eat should make a reservation by calling 417-255-7940 or emailing FriendsofGarnettLibrary@MissouriState.edu by Monday, Feb. 10.
“Everyone is welcome to attend,” organizers said. “We welcome you as a guest, or you can find out about joining the organization at the meeting.”
