West Plains, MO. – An Ava infant was killed in a two vehicle crash on Monday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred on US 60 in Diggins at 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
An eastbound 2005 Honda Civic driven by William Lyman, age 23 of Ava, attempted to make a left turn and was struck in the passenger side by a westbound 2016 Toyota Tacoma driven by Cynthia Eure, age 67 of Mansfield.
Both drivers had been wearing seatbelts and suffered moderate injuries and an infant girl under a year old in the Honda suffered life-threatening injuries. All injured were taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield where the infant succumbed to her injuries.
