Ava, MO. – A man from Ava, MO., has been arrested after being stopped for his Failure to Appear warrant, and was discovered with methamphetamine.
This happened on May 21st, when Douglas County Deputy witnessed an individual driving on a motorcycle on South Jefferson Street. The rider, Lloyd Yost, 53 of Ava, was known to have an active warrant. This turned into a short pursuit, where Yost pulled into a residence, took off his coat, put it in a nearby Jeep, and locked the doors.
Shortly after, the owner was contacted, consent to search the Jeep was obtained, and both meth and drug paraphernalia were found in the coat. Yost, who was also currently on probation, has received additional criminal charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License 3rd offense, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
