Ava, Mo. – A male subject was arrested for local warrants and drug possession Friday morning. At 8 a.m. Friday morning, officers with the Ava Police Department went to a residence near the Ava Pre-School to arrest a male subject on local warrants. After being let into the home by a female resident, officers found the subject had observed methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia but, the male had taken off through the back of the building.
Following a short foot chase, the subject was arrested with the assistance of a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy and Ava School SRO. The man is currently being held in the Ava City Jail while formal charges are being pursued.
The Ava Police Department stated in a social media post that they “would like to thank the Douglas County Sheriffs office as well as the Ava School SRO for assisting in the quick apprehension of the Subject.”
