Gainesville, MO. – A man from Ava is facing four felony charges after assaulting his girlfriend, stealing her firearm, and threatening her.
According to the probable cause affidavit, this event stems back to December 29th, when Ozark County Deputy Moss was dispatched to a domestic abuse incident at around 12:27pm. This victim in this incident was escorted back to the Sheriff’s Office, as they did not feel safe at their residence.
There, the victim told law enforcement that her then boyfriend, Donnivan Davis, 26 of Ava, had allegedly struck her several times over the course of five hours. This happened because the victim had wished to separate from him, after suspecting he had purchased methamphetamine.
It was also stated Davis had attempted to break the victims phone to keep her from calling law enforcement, and allegedly stole a .22 caliber rifle before law enforcement returned.
Davis is facing charges of felony 2nd Degree Kidnapping, felony 2nd Degree Domestic Assault, felony Stealing, and felony 1st Degree Harassment.
