Mansfield, MO. – A man from Ava has been seriously injured and is facing criminal charges after a crash on the evening of August 1st.
The driver in this crash was identified as Douglas May, 60 of Ava. May was driving a Ford F350 Southbound on Highway 5 when at roughly 8:35 pm he crashed 1.5 miles South of Mansfield. The report states that May traveled off the right side of the roadway before going down a ravine and striking a tree.
The driver suffered serious injuries during the accident, which necessitated the use of air ambulance services for transport to Springfield. Additionally, May was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash and is facing criminal charges which include: Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Imprudent Driving Involving an Accident, and No Seatbelt.
The investigator of this crash was Trooper T.L. Sullivan of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
