Ava Motorcyclist Suffers Fatal Crash

Oldfield, MO. – An Ava man has suffered fatal injuries as a result of a crash involving a deer on Saturday, July 9th.

Tommy Hampton, 51 of Ava, was traveling on Highway UU, 8 miles East of Oldfield, MO, when he crashed. He was driving a 2007 Honda Shadow motorcycle, Northbound.

The crash occurred before 9PM, with Mr. Hampton striking a deer in the roadway. Hamptons vehicle appeared to have overturned with the collision.

Hampton was pronounced deceased at the scene by Christian County Coroner Mandi Armitage. Hampton was not wearing a safety device.

This accident was investigated by Trooper I.A. Warren of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D.
