AVA, Mo. — The Ava Municipal Swimming Pool opened for the season Saturday, May 23, with regular hours, daily admission options, season passes and updated payment options available for pool patrons.
The pool is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays. Regular season operations are scheduled to continue through Aug. 9, with the Doggie Dive In planned for Aug. 15.
Daily admission is free for children ages 0 to 3, $2.50 for ages 4 to 12 and $3 for ages 13 and older. Family season passes are $175, individual season passes are $100 and pool party rentals are available from 7 to 9 p.m. for $175.
Splash Cards are also available for children ages 4 to 12. The cards cost $25 and include 11 visits for the price of 10.
Following public feedback, the City of Ava announced the pool will not transition to a cashless system this season. City officials said the pool will continue to accept both cash and cards in order to better serve the community.
The city thanked residents who reached out regarding the payment policy, citing polite calls and productive discussions that helped guide the decision.
For safety, a full-time police officer will be on park grounds while the pool is in operation.
Additional activities listed for the season include Aqua Zumba with Nance, swim lessons in July for $30 and daily concessions.
