Ava, MO. – The Ava Rural Fire Department are currently hard at work integrating a new fire engine into service.
This new engine, a 2006 E-ONE engine is set to replace a 1992 International 4900 KME engine that has been in service since 2013. This purchase is being outlined as a neccessity due to mechanical failures and a large amount of rust on the old engine.
Officials with the Fire Department say that this will be a financial burden for awhile, but that this was a needed expense for the protection of their district.
In one more update, the Central Taney County Fire Protection District is reported to have donated additional fire gear to the ARFD, further expanding the amount of equipment available.
