Ava Woman Arrested For Drugs

Ava, Mo. – An Ava woman has been arrested for drug possession while at a convenience store. On December 30, 2021 at roughly 6 p.m., Deputy Sam Evans of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of service regarding a female slumped over the steering wheel at Casey’s General Store in Ava, MO.Corporal James Nelson and his K9 Amigo was requested and Amigo was deployed.

Amanda Vensel, age 34, of Ava, MO was arrested and transported to the Douglas County Jail. A warrant was issued for Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, a Class D Felony; Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class D Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $5,000.00 Cash Only with bond conditions of CPS Supervision.
