Ava woman arrested in Norwood for Meth

West Plains, Mo. – An Ava woman was arrested earlier this week for methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop in Norwood. On December 5, 2022 at approximately 11:05 pm, Cpl. Campbell with the Wright County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Eagle Street and made contact with the driver, Michelle Woodruff, 45, of Ava.

Cpl. Campbell asked for consent to search the vehicle and consent was granted. The corporal located a baggie containing a crystal like substance as well as drug paraphernalia. The crystal like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Woodruff was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Wright County Jail.

Woodruff was placed on house arrest by Judge Lynette Veenstra and has a preliminary hearing at the Wright County courthouse on January 9, 2023.

All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
