West Plains, MO. – An elderly Ava woman was hit by a passing vehicle while she checked her mail on Friday. The accident occurred at 12:30 p.m. on Highway 76, eight miles west of Ava on October 7, 2022.
A westbound 2004 Volkswagen Touareg driven by Joshua Coffer, age 34 of Ava, struck Lesa Berger, age 70, with the mirror of his vehicle. Coffer was uninjured in the accident but Berger suffered moderate injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Cox South hospital in Springfield for treatment.
